About the role

Tasmanian Berries is a family-owned, fast-growing berry business with farms across Northern Tasmania and Queensland. We grow hydroponic strawberries, raspberries and blackberries for the Australian market. We're looking for backpackers to join our team as Farm Hands, Irrigation Assistants or Spray Operators.

Key responsibilities

Farm Hands:

- Plant maintenance and crop support

- Tunnel construction and upkeep

- Mowing, whipper snipping, general farm tidy-up

- Jump into seasonal projects as they come up

Irrigation Assistants:

- Help operate and monitor irrigation & fertigation systems

- Routine maintenance — flushing, dripper checks, system cleaning

- Monitor plant health and water/nutrient levels

- Assist with irrigation installs across farm sites

Spray Operators:

- Operate tractors for spraying and other farm tasks

- Prepare and apply crop protection products under supervision

- Calibrate and maintain spray equipment

- Follow safety and chemical-handling procedures at all times

About you

- Fit, active, happy to work outdoors in all weather

- Reliable and punctual — turning up on time, every time

- Good attitude,



good team player

- Own transport (or able to sort transport)

- Open to working across multiple farm sites

- Full working rights in Australia (WHV 417/462 welcome)

- Available to work weekends

- No experience needed — full training provided

- Chemical handling ticket (e.g. ChemCert/SMARTtrain) desirable but not essential

Accommodation

We don't have accommodation available on the farm — you'll need to find your own place to stay in a surrounding area such as Westbury, Exton, Deloraine, Devonport or Launceston. We love having backpackers on the team: positive pay, real hours, and a crew that's used to welcoming travellers.
