Skilled Nursing is currently seeking experienced and compassionate Mental Health Nurses to join our client's team within a youth custodial healthcare setting in Victoria.This is a rewarding opportunity to work with young people experiencing complex mental health needs while contributing to continuity of care and positive health outcomes in a supportive multidisciplinary setting.Our client is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace where diversity is valued and individuality is respected.About the Role:The Mental Health Nurse will work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, supporting General Practitioners and other clinicians in the management of young people experiencing complex mental health conditions.
The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You must be willing to work a rotating roster across day, afternoon, and night shifts.Key Responsibilities for this role: • Conduct comprehensive mental health and risk assessments in line with AHPRA standards and skilled practice guidelines• Deliver treatment, interventions,



and ongoing reviews in accordance with care plans and GP mental health plans• Support the admission and transition of current patients into the service• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality mental health support• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold best practice standards within a custodial healthcare environmentEssential Requirements:• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse• Demonstrated mental health nursing experience• Robust assessment, communication, and crisis management skills• Ability to work effectively within a challenging but rewarding environment• Flexibility to work rotating shiftsIf you are passionate about mental health nursing and making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people, we would love to hear from you.ASAP startRegional VictoriaMaking a difference
