About the role
We are looking for a Team Leader to join the Adult Step-Up Step-Down (ASUSD) residential service in Gladstone. In this fixed-term, full time role, you will provide practice leadership and day-to-day operational oversight, supporting a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented services to people living with psychosocial disability.
You will coach and mentor staff, provide practice supervision, model effective person-centred practice and work closely with clinical and community partners to support people to achieve their recovery goals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented support aligned with Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented Practice.
- Provide practice supervision, mentoring and coaching to staff, modelling person-centred,
trauma-informed and evidence-informed practice.
- Provide direct support to clients, families and carers, supporting recovery goals, independent living skills and transition to the community.
- Oversee day-to-day service operations, including rostering, handovers, documentation, incidents, risk management, quality and compliance requirements
- Facilitate group programs that promote life skills, wellbeing, and social connection, using co-production and recovery principles.
- Work collaboratively with clinical partners, community services and other stakeholders to support coordinated responses and positive outcomes for clients.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, or other health-related field.
- Demonstrated experience supporting people experiencing mental health challenges and complex needs, with knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and family-inclusive practice.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor and develop staff and provide effective practice supervision.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to provide proof of vaccination against vaccine preventable diseases or willingness to obtain required vaccinations per Queensland Health partnership.
