Aboutthe RoleMSS Security is seeking professional, reliable and customer-focused Terminal Security Officers to join our team at Hobart International Airport.
This role provides a visible security presence throughout the airport terminal and surrounding precinct, helping maintain a safe, secure and welcoming setting for passengers, staff and visitors.
Duties include:* Conduct security patrols of the terminal, forecourt, aprons, airport roads and car parks.
Monitor and report security, safety and operational concerns.
Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents.
Apply effective verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques when responding to challenging or escalating behaviours.
Engage respectfully with passengers experiencing distress and provide first aid when required.
Maintain accurate security logs, patrol records and incident reports.
Provide a professional and customer-focused security presence throughout the airport.




Ideal candidates will have:* Confidence applying de-escalation techniques and managing challenging behaviour without unnecessarily escalating a situation.
Patience, empathy and the ability to communicate respectfully with vulnerable or distressed people.
Robust communication and customer service skills.
A professional presentation and reliable approach to work.
Previous experience in security, aviation, transport, mental health support or another public-facing operational environment will be highly regarded.
Flexibility to work across a variety of shifts, including weekends and publicholidays.
Requirements:*Full Australian working rights.
A current Tasmanian Security Agent Licence.
A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Ability to undergo a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.
