About the role
The Senior Systems Specialist – Manufacturing Execution Systems is responsible for supporting and advancing Cochlear's MES capability by working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Logistics and IT/OT teams to deliver practical, scalable and compliant system solutions. You will lead and coordinate MES implementation activities, support manufacturing system enhancements, maintain system integrity and ensure users have the tools, training and support required to operate effectively. This is a highly collaborative role that combines technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, change management and continuous improvement to help drive manufacturing performance and digital transformation initiatives across Cochlear.
What you’ll do
Manufacturing Execution Systems Leadership Support
Support the implementation, configuration and optimisation of Manufacturing Execution Systems across manufacturing operations. Maintain system performance, master data integrity and operational effectiveness. Ensure MES solutions support manufacturing workflows, compliance requirements and business objectives. Coordinate system upgrades, enhancements and deployment activities.
Manufacturing Operations Support
Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Logistics teams to understand operational requirements and translate them into effective system solutions. Support manufacturing process improvements through improved system capability and operational visibility. Maintain manufacturing data structures, workflows, routings, equipment records and system configurations. Drive improvements that enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality and traceability.
Implementation, Validation & Continuous Improvement
Lead or coordinate MES testing, validation and deployment activities. Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
Support system performance monitoring and ongoing optimisation initiatives. Drive continuous improvement activities that enhance system reliability and user experience.
Change Management & User Adoption
Develop and deliver user training, communication and adoption activities. Support stakeholders through system changes and new process implementation. Build strong user engagement and confidence in MES capabilities. Champion effective change management practices that support successful business outcomes.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure MES activities support manufacturing quality requirements, traceability standards and regulatory expectations. Maintain documentation, validation records and audit readiness. Support compliance with quality systems and regulated manufacturing requirements. Participate in continuous improvement of manufacturing and quality processes.
About you
As we continue to strengthen our digital manufacturing capability, we're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a passion for improving manufacturing systems, processes and user experiences.
You Will Bring Experience implementing, supporting or optimising Manufacturing Execution Systems within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production workflows and manufacturing data management.
Experience maintaining master data, process structures, workflows, BOMs and operational system configurations.
Experience supporting system testing, validation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
Experience coordinating projects, managing priorities and delivering outcomes in a structured environment.
A continuous improvement mindset and a practical approach to problem-solving.
Strong understanding of quality, compliance and traceability requirements within manufacturing operations.
What will help you stand out
You’ll stand out if you have experience working within medical device, electronics or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience implementing or supporting digital manufacturing transformation programs, MES platforms, industrial automation technologies or manufacturing system integrations will be highly regarded. Exposure to manufacturing validation, audit readiness, quality systems and change management activities will further strengthen your application.
