About Us
Tasly Healthpac is a healthcare group with medical centres across Sydney, bringing together general practitioners, specialists and allied health professionals.
Our Sydney corporate head office supports the administration and financial operations of the business and its clinic network. We are seeking an Accountant to join our finance team and contribute to accurate financial reporting and the effective management of day-to-day accounting activities.
About the Role
This role involves a broad range of accounting responsibilities across corporate and clinic operations, including month-end reporting, account reconciliations, revenue and expense accounting, and tax compliance support.
You will work with the finance team, clinic staff and external advisers to maintain reliable financial records, investigate discrepancies and provide financial information that supports business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain the general ledger and complete month-end accounting activities, including reviewing account classifications and preparing accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other adjusting journals.
· Prepare periodic financial statements and management reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets, in accordance with applicable accounting standards and internal accounting policies, and explain significant movements in financial results.
· Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and prepare appropriate accounting adjustments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
· Review the accounting treatment of clinic revenue, medical practitioner fees and operating expenses, ensuring that amounts are recognised in the appropriate periods and supported by relevant records.
· Prepare Business Activity Statements and supporting GST reconciliations and assist with annual income tax and Fringe Benefits Tax requirements by preparing relevant calculations, schedules and financial information.
· Assist with annual budgets and periodic forecasts, analyse actual financial performance against budget, and provide explanations of revenue and expenditure variances across clinic operations.
· Maintain fixed asset accounting records, review asset additions and disposals, and calculate depreciation for inclusion in financial statements and supporting schedules.
· Prepare financial schedules and working papers for internal and external audits, respond to accounting queries, and assist in resolving matters identified during the review process.
· Review accounting procedures and supporting documentation, identify weaknesses or inconsistencies, and recommend practical improvements to financial reporting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications and Skills
· A bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
· A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, with exposure to month-end reporting, account reconciliations and day-to-day accounting functions.
· Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and Australian taxation requirements relevant to the role.
· Ability to prepare and review financial information, investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate supporting records.
· Proficiency in accounting systems and spreadsheets for financial reporting, reconciliation and analysis.
· Valuable attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
· Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with finance colleagues, operational staff and external advisers.
What We Offer
· An annual salary of AUD 83,000–88,000, plus superannuation, depending on relevant skills and experience.
