Help turn our 10-year strategy into action

Our 10-year strategy sets an ambitious direction for Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL). Now we need the right people to help bring it to life.

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Director, Strategy and Performance to join our Transformation Office and help drive the implementation of our strategy across the organisation. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of strategy, delivery and people. You’ll work with senior leaders, business areas and project teams to turn strategic priorities into practical action — helping determine what needs to happen, when it needs to happen and what it will take to deliver.

You’ll provide trusted strategic advice, coordinate the sequencing of major initiatives, identify and manage capacity and risk, and help the organisation respond to changing priorities and impacts.

You’ll also have a key role in ensuring we know whether our strategy is delivering. You’ll monitor progress, identify emerging issues and opportunities, and provide explicit, evidence-based reporting and advice to the Executive and Board.

We’re looking for someone who can see the bigger picture, make sense of complexity and turn strategy into action.

You will bring





- Support the development and implementation of the AHL Transformation Plan inline with the AHL Strategy.
- Provide program and project coordination to sequencing initiatives to manage capacity, risk, and change impact.
- Support and input into the development of evidence-based proposal for future investment linked to AHL 10-year strategy that align with government priorities.
- Provide high-quality strategic advice and input into the implementation of initiatives set out in the AHL Strategy.
- Monitor and report on progress against agreed milestones and outcomes within the Strategy and Transformation Plan including the development of tools and resources to enable the delivery and evaluation of initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with project and business teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and mentoring to team members and boarder AHL teams to support capability development and performance outcomes.
- Provide regular reporting to the Executive, Board and Committees of the Board as required.
