What you'll be doing The Assistant in Nursing provides nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse that reflects current standards of nursing practices and current Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures.
About You
You are a compassionate and dedicated Health Services Assistant with a strong commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care to patients and their families. Through your qualification in Health Services Assistance or ongoing nursing studies, you have developed practical clinical skills and a solid understanding of basic nursing care, enabling you to confidently assist with personal care, activities of daily living, patient comfort measures, and the monitoring and reporting of vital signs.
You are particularly skilled at supporting patients receiving palliative and end-of-life care, demonstrating empathy, sensitivity, and professionalism when communicating with patients, families, and carers during challenging times. Your caring approach allows you to identify individual needs, provide meaningful support, and communicate relevant observations and concerns to the supervising Registered Nurse to ensure the delivery of secure and responsive care.
A strong team player, you work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare environments and consistently embody the values of Collaboration, Openness,
Respect, and Empowerment. You are confident working under delegation, taking responsibility for tasks within your scope of practice once competency has been assessed, while recognising when to seek guidance and escalate concerns appropriately.
Committed to patient safety and quality care, you apply infection prevention and control principles in all aspects of your work and maintain accurate clinical documentation using electronic health systems. Your attention to detail, effective communication skills, and dedication to delivering compassionate care enable you to make a positive contribution to both patient experiences and healthcare outcomes.
