Contract: ASAP to 30 June 2027 (possible extension options available for the right candidate, pending budget decisions as always)
Pay: $130 to $160 p/h including super (negotiable)

About the Role
Join our Federal Government client on a major whole-of-government payments reform. You will help move an established payment channel toward cessation while protecting service continuity for customers.
This is a hands-on Business Analyst role spanning requirements, current and future state process analysis, detailed BA artefacts and Business Verification Testing. Strong payment-process knowledge will set you apart.
What You'll Be Doing
- Facilitate workshops to elicit and document detailed business requirements
- Analyse current state processes and payment use cases
- Define future state business needs
- Develop detailed business requirement specifications and process maps
- Lead or coordinate Business Verification Testing activities
- Develop or coordinate test cases and prepare test data
- Coordinate business testers
- Analyse and report on testing results
What You Bring (Essential Criteria)
- You've worked as a Business Analyst for at least 5 years
- You understand government payment processes and associated ICT payment systems
- You've facilitated requirements gathering workshops and documented detailed business requirements
- You can analyse current state processes and translate them into future state business needs
- You've produced detailed business requirement specifications and process maps
- You've coordinated acceptance or business verification testing
- You're an Australian citizen
- You must hold a current Baseline clearance or above
Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)
- Experience with Medicare, corporate payments or comparable high-volume government payment processes
- Knowledge of cheque or other payment-channel processes
- Experience supporting payment-channel transition or cessation
- Previous experience in a large Commonwealth service-delivery setting
