We are looking for an experienced and reliable cook / chef to join our team.

In this role you will be responsible for kitchen production operations in our busy Berwick cafe, preparing breakfast and lunch cafe-style food for dine-in and takeaway customers. The role also includes production for small catering orders for corporate clients in the building. Overtime opportunities are also available when we host after-hours corporate events.

About the Role

- Commences as a casual contract with the chance to become full-time
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience + applicable penalty rates
- Work independently to manage all daily kitchen operations with the support of a part-time kitchen hand.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve fresh cafe-style menu items
- Independently manage kitchen workflow and daily production.
- Producing catering orders to a high standard
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Monitoring stock levels and minimizing waste
- Supporting menu development and seasonal specials
- Daily ordering




- Reporting to the cafe owner

Previous experience as a chef, cook, or in a similar role

Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload

Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Reliable, organized, and proactive

Excellent attention to detail and presentation

Availability to work occasional after-hours events
