The Role

This role will require the knowledge & experience necessary to manage a diverse range of in-service equipment capabilities. It will require a well-developed understanding of Defence policy requirements, government decision-making, Special Operations Command’s mission, & Army’s sustainment processes. Within Capability Management Cell, you will undertake specialist research & analysis, conduct assessments, perform procedural & clerical support work.

The team will interpret & provide advice within the sustainment function based on legislation, policy & procedures to ensure Special Operations capabilities.

This position has personnel management responsibilities; as such you will be required to exercise your leadership and management skills in support of the sustainment of Special Operations capabilities. You will work collaboratively as part of the broader Defence team & be expected to confidently & articulately represent the interests of Special Operations Command within the broader Defence environment. You will contribute towards ongoing self-improvement & professional development as well as identifying opportunities for on-job training.

This role will require some interstate travel; successful applicants will be required to travel in order to attend sustainment activities and liaison visits to Special Operations Command units.





About our Team The Capability Management Cell within Headquarters Special Operations Command is responsible for representing the Command's equities in a variety of Army sustainment activities to ensure our personnel have the equipment that is fit for purpose.

As a member of this team, you will be required to:

- Develop a detailed understanding of the equipment within your allocated Product Schedules.
- Engage with a range of external stakeholders including sustainment and program personnel of Army Headquarters and fleet management staff across the delivery agencies.
- Personnel within this team are routinely required to brief, verbally and through written correspondence, senior executive staff within Special Operations Command.
