EXPERIENCED COOK / CHEF

Lord Street Social – Highgate

Lord Street Social is looking for an experienced Cook or Chef to join our kitchen team.

We’re looking for someone who knows their way around a busy café kitchen, can hold their own during a busy service and doesn’t need their hand held. You need to be confident, organised, reliable and capable of keeping up when the kitchen gets smashed.

THE ROLE

You’ll be responsible for

- Breakfast and lunch service
- Preparing and presenting cabinet food
- Preparing catering orders
- Daily food prep and maintaining stock levels
- Consistent portioning, presentation and food quality
- Keeping your section clean, organised and ready for service
- Working efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Following food safety and hygiene requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Previous commercial kitchen experience is essential.

You need to be someone who:

- Has solid experience as a Cook or Chef, ideally in a busy café
- Can confidently hold their own during a busy breakfast or lunch service
- Can work independently without needing constant direction
- Is fast, organised and calm under pressure
- Understands prep, timing and kitchen organisation




- Takes pride in presentation and consistency
- Is reliable and turns up ready to work
- Works well as part of a small team
- Has experience with café food, cabinet food and catering

This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who can come into the kitchen with experience and hit the ground running.

HOURS & AVAILABILITY

30–35 hours per week – Casual

Wednesday to Sunday availability is essential and non-negotiable.

PAY

Casual position paid under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award, including applicable casual loading and penalty rates.

SIGNIFICANT

No sponsorship is available for this position. Applicants must already have unrestricted working rights suitable for the role in Australia.

Location: Lord Street Social, Highgate WA

Hours: Approximately 30–35 hours per week

Required days: Wednesday–Sunday
