Role Description The Chief LLM Architect Engineer is a full-time, in office role based in Melbourne, VIC, responsible for designing and overseeing the end-to-end architecture of large language model (LLM) solutions that power TravelFlap’s AI-driven travel products. This role involves leading the technical vision for LLM, VLM, and related AI systems, including model selection, training pipelines, deployment architectures, and integration with existing SaaS and white-label platforms. The individual will collaborate closely with product, data, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable AI services, optimize performance and reliability, and ensure alignment with security and compliance standards.





Day-to-day tasks include reviewing system designs, mentoring engineering teams, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, managing technical roadmaps, and continuously evaluating emerging AI technologies to enhance TravelFlap’s customer experience.

Qualifications

- Strong Architecture skills, including designing scalable, secure, and high-availability AI/LLM systems and cloud-native infrastructures.

- Proven Project Management capabilities to plan, execute, and deliver complex AI and software initiatives on time and within scope.

- Experience collaborating with Civil Engineering and Construction stakeholders when integrating AI solutions into physical or infrastructure-related projects is beneficial.

- Demonstrated Teamwork skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and work effectively with product, data, and business partners.

- Extensive hands-on experience with LLMs, NLP, and related AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), as well as MLOps tools and practices.

- Advanced proficiency in at least one modern programming language used in AI systems (such as Python, Go, or Java) and familiarity with microservices and API design.

- Background in distributed systems, data engineering, and performance optimization for real-time, customer-facing applications.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience
