Emmikins Early Learning Centre is looking for a reliable, organised and caring cook to join our team. You’ll play an important role in our children’s day, preparing nutritious meals that help them grow, explore current flavours and develop a positive relationship with food.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their kitchen, communicates well and enjoys working independently while being part of a wider team.

About the role

- Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks for the children attending our centre.
- Carefully cater for allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements, working closely with our educators and management.
- Manage food preparation, ordering and stock, keeping the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly.
- Follow food safety procedures and maintain the relevant kitchen records.

About you

You have experience cooking for groups and can confidently manage the preparation and timing of multiple meals. Experience in childcare, schools, aged care or a similar setting would be highly regarded.

Just as importantly, you are dependable, punctual and approachable.



You communicate early when something changes, follow through on your responsibilities and understand the importance of consistency in a childcare environment.

You’ll also need

- Food safety supervisors certificate (desirable but not essential)
- Cert 3 in food safety (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of allergies and intolerances in children
- Current employee Working with Children Check,
- Completion of Foundation of Child Safety Training Course
- Knowledge of Food Safety Programs
- Professional referees
- Experience as a childcare cook (desirable but not essential)
