Our client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong HR systems and employee lifecycle expertise to join a major enterprise transformation program within a leading higher education environment.

The organisation is currently in the discovery phase of a broader ERP transformation, with the future technology platform yet to be determined. This role will play a key part in understanding the current HR landscape, defining future-state business requirements and processes, and helping shape the requirements that will inform future platform and solution decisions.

This is an opportunity to work at the front end of a significant transformation, where you will engage closely with HR, Technology and broader business stakeholders to ensure employee needs, business processes and functional requirements are clearly understood before technology decisions are made.

The Role

As the Senior Business Analyst - HR Systems, you will lead business analysis activities across HR and employee-facing capabilities, supporting discovery, requirements definition and future-state design.

You will work across a diverse stakeholder environment to understand existing systems, processes, pain points and dependencies, while helping define what the future HR and employee experience should look like.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Lead discovery and business analysis activities across HR systems and employee-facing processes within the ERP transformation program.
- Facilitate workshops and interviews with HR, Technology, Finance, Payroll and other business stakeholders to capture requirements, challenges and future needs.
- Analyse and document current-state processes, systems, integrations, data flows and pain points across the employee lifecycle.
- Define future-state business processes, capabilities and functional requirements without being constrained by a predetermined technology solution.
- Develop high-quality business and functional requirements, process maps, user journeys, use cases and supporting analysis documentation.
- Assess business requirements across areas such as employee records, recruitment, onboarding, organisational structures, performance, learning, workforce administration and employee self-service.
- Identify dependencies and integration requirements between HR systems and areas such as payroll, finance, identity/access management and other enterprise platforms.
- Support options analysis, solution evaluation and vendor/platform selection activities as the program progresses.
- Work closely with architects, project/program managers, product owners,

change teams and subject matter experts to translate business needs into clear solution requirements.
- Provide traceability from business objectives and requirements through to future solution design and implementation.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Significant experience as a Senior Business Analyst delivering complex enterprise technology or transformation programs.
- Must have experience working with HRIS, HCM, HR platforms or employee-facing enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated experience working during the discovery, requirements and solution-selection stages of a transformation.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end HR and employee lifecycle processes.
- Experience documenting current and future-state processes, business capabilities, functional requirements, user journeys and system dependencies.
- Ability to facilitate complex workshops and draw out requirements from senior stakeholders, operational teams and subject matter experts.
- Experience working across integrations and dependencies involving HR, payroll, finance, identity and enterprise systems.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively where requirements, scope and technology decisions are still evolving.
- Experience within higher education, government or another large and complex organisation would be highly regarded.
- Exposure to major ERP/HCM platforms such as Workday, Oracle Cloud, SAP SuccessFactors or TechnologyOne would be advantageous; however, the role is platform agnostic, as the future solution has not yet been selected.
