About the role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Dance Instructor to join our co-curricular dance program on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to nurture a love of dance in students from Early Years to Year 6, developing their confidence, technique and performance skills in a positive and supportive environment. The successful applicant will have a strong foundation in Ballet, with the ability to teach Jazz and Hip Hop classes and support choreography and performance preparation throughout the year.
Working collaboratively with our dance team, you will:
- Deliver fun, engaging and age-appropriate dance classes for students from Early Years to Year 6.
- Teach and develop students' skills in Ballet, with complementary Jazz and Hip Hop instruction.
- Create choreography and support students in preparing for performances, showcases and assemblies.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
- Adapt lessons to suit varying abilities and experience levels.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain attendance records and communicate effectively with families and staff when required.
- Uphold child safety, wellbeing and supervision standards at all times.
Skills And Experiences
About you:
You will bring
- Qualifications and/or significant experience in dance instruction.
- Strong Ballet training and teaching experience.
- Experience teaching young children in a school, dance studio or similar workplace.
- Knowledge of Jazz and Hip Hop styles.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A positive, energetic and reliable approach.
- The ability to motivate and inspire young dancers of all abilities.
- A collaborative and team-focused mindset.
- Current Working With Children Check, RRHAN-EC Fundamentals & Masterclass and HLTAID012 (or willingness to obtain).
