About the role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Strategic Program Delivery bridges the gap between high-level organisational strategy and operational reality. This senior leader takes the key cross-functional program priorities approved through strategic and operational plans by and translates them into actionable, enterprise-wide delivery plans.
The role coordinates significant, complex, cross-functional programs from definition through to implementation and transition. The focus is on driving service optimisation, managing organisational change, and ensuring the charity's resources are aligned to deliver maximum impact for the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Operationalisation: Translate key cross-functional strategic and operational plan priorities into clear outcomes, practical workplans, explicit accountabilities, milestones, and performance measures.
- End-to-End Program Delivery: Lead and coordinate significant, complex cross-functional projects and programs from initial definition and business-case mapping through to successful implementation and sustainable handover to business-as-usual teams.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the connective tissue across the organisation, intentionally bringing together operational, practice, workforce, financial, and enabling perspectives to support effective, holistic program implementation.
- Service Optimisation & Change Management: Partner with operational and practice leaders to support continuous service and operating model reviews, driving operational optimisation and managing the human side of organisational change.
- Risk & Dependency Management:
Proactively identify and resolve complex project dependencies, operational barriers, and delivery risks, preparing clear options and recommendations for matters enterprise decision.
- Capability Integration: Design and build sustainable internal capability programs that empower frontline and corporate staff with the profile and capabilities needed to maintain long-term project outcomes.
Ideal Background & Experience
- Deep Sector Expertise: Extensive experience working within mental health, aged care, youth, or broader human services sectors. You possess a strong understanding of the practice frameworks, safeguarding, funding, and regulatory complexities unique to large-scale charity environments.
- Senior Leadership Track Record: Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role or senior internal change consultant) within a complex, geographically dispersed, or matrixed organisation.
- Large-Scale Execution: A proven history of leading and landing high-impact, cross-functional programs or organisational change initiatives from concept through to successful operational transition.
- Strategic Capability: Proven ability to take a high-level strategic vision and translate it into practical, structured project frameworks, workplans, and resource models.
- Executive Stakeholder Management:
Exceptional communication skills with a track record of acting as a trusted partner, confidently navigating competing priorities and operational silos.
- Service Model Optimisation: Hands-on experience supporting operating model reviews or service design enhancements that improve frontline delivery and client outcomes.
- Qualifications: A tertiary degree in a relevant field.

- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module: ‘Quality, Safety & You’
