Selection Criteria

SC1 Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks, including coordinating and supporting others in respect to specific work functions relevant to the role (Disability Inclusion).

SC2 Demonstrated capacity to work and collaborate with others in a team environment.

SC3 Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills.

SC4 Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position (Disability Inclusion).

SC5 Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff in respect to the Disability Inclusion process.

Role

This role is suitable for candidates with training and experience in the Disability Inclusion process, who can work with all stakeholders and the Assistant Principal to undertake the Disability Inclusion process from start to finish to secure Disability Inclusion funding for students with disabilities.

The Disability Inclusion Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Assistant Principal and independently to coordinate administrative processes related to inclusive practice within the school.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of the Disability Inclusion program across the school. This will include:

- Supporting the implementation of Disability Inclusion processes and practices.
- Coordinating Disability Inclusion Profiles and associated documentation.
- Building staff capacity in inclusive teaching practices and reasonable adjustments.
- Collaborating with teachers, education support staff, families, allied health professionals and school leadership.
- Supporting the development, implementation and review of student adjustments and personalised learning goals.
- Monitoring student progress, participation, engagement and wellbeing.
- Contributing to Student Support Group meetings and whole-school inclusion planning.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with Department of Education requirements.
- Promoting a culture of inclusion, high expectations and equitable access for all students.

The role requires strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, together with a sound understanding of inclusive education and the Disability Inclusion model.

Responsibilities

1. Working collaboratively with the Assistant Principal to support students, parents and staff through the completion of administrative tasks relevant to the Disability Inclusion Profile model.
2. Scheduling parents, students and staff for Disability Inclusion Profile meetings.
3. Requesting and collating feedback from classroom teachers for students supported through Progamr for Students with Disability and Disability Inclusion as well as any others requested by the Assistant Principal.
4. Repsonding to requests from allied health professionals and ensuring the completion of associated administrative tasks.
5. Requesting and managing the storage of confidential student documentation and assessments and maintaining the organisation of these files.
6.



Completing administrative processes within Disability Inclusion Profile applications including registering individual students, undertake student observations, completing initial student information, uploading supporting documentation, collating and storing supporting evidence.
7. Updating and distributing documentation following the review of key student documentation including Individual Education Plans, Behavioural Support Plans, Safety Mangagement Plans etc.

Who May Apply

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

Qualification Requirements

To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class:
- The person must have provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching; and
- if the person completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program or course of study on or after 1 January 2024, they must demonstrate that they have satisfactorily completed a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education program that has been accredited by an Australian State or Territory Teacher Regulatory Authority as satisfying the requirements of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership 'Accreditation of initial teacher education programs in Australia: Standards and Procedures'; and
- a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program after 1 July 2016 must also demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements (this condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian ITE program completed by the person).

Location Profile

Bundoora Primary School is situated in the residential suburb of Bundoora, in the north-east of Melbourne.

Our school is surrounded by Gresswell Forest, established areas, the adjacent Bundoora Secondary College campus, Strathallan Golf Course, and the current Gresswell Grange Estate. We are close to La Trobe University, RMIT Bundoora and the Metropolitan Ring Road.
