Disability Support Worker (Male) | Jamboree Heights / Redbank Plains

CSBS is seeking dedicated and experienced Male Disability Support Workers to join a committed support team assisting a young adult participant transitioning into a 24/7 Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide person-centred support to a 27-year-old participant currently residing with family in Jamboree Heights, who will later transition to a robust SDA property in Redbank Plains.

We are seeking reliable and committed support workers who can build trust over time, follow support plans consistently, and provide active, engaging support while maintaining a calm and confident approach.

About the Person You Will Support

The participant is a 27-year-old non-verbal male who requires structured, consistent support to maintain routines, participate in enjoyable activities, and achieve positive outcomes.

The participant has an intellectual disability and complex behavioural support needs. At times, he may engage in self-injurious behaviours and property damage. A comprehensive Behaviour Support Plan is in place and successful applicants must be willing to follow support strategies consistently and professionally.

The participant is physically strong and highly perceptive. He responds best to support workers who are confident, active, patient, and capable of building trust through consistency and reliability. He enjoys routine, meaningful engagement, and support workers who are prepared to participate in activities throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide person-centred support in accordance with individual support plans and Behaviour Support Plans.




- Support daily living activities, routines and skill development.
- Build and maintain a positive, trusting relationship with the participant.
- Facilitate community access, appointments, recreational activities and social participation.
- Encourage engagement in meaningful activities throughout each shift.
- Support the participant safely during periods of dysregulation in accordance with approved strategies.
- Maintain accurate progress notes, reporting and documentation.
- Work closely with family members, allied health professionals and the broader support team.
- Promote dignity, choice, independence and quality of life.

Shift Availability

The participant is currently transitioning toward a 24/7 SIL support arrangement.

Initially, support will involve:

- Shifts operating approximately 8:00am to 7:00pm
- Approximately 3 to 4 shifts per week
- Ongoing Permanent Part-Time opportunities
- Flexible rostered days to be confirmed

As the participant transitions into his SIL home, the roster will expand into a full 24/7 support model with a combination of day, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts.

About You

Successful applicants will be:
- Male support workers able to build rapport and trust over time.
- Active,



energetic and comfortable participating in community and recreational activities.
- Calm, confident and resilient when supporting behaviours of concern.
- Able to maintain transparent boundaries while providing a caring and nurturing approach.
- Consistent, reliable and punctual.
- Strong communicators with clear spoken and written English.
- Committed to following support plans and established routines.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred supports.

Essential Requirements

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Open Driver Licence.
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Experience supporting people with disability.
- Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Flexibility to work within an evolving 24/7 support roster.

Desirable Experience

Experience supporting:
- Participants with behaviours of concern.
- Intellectual disability.
- Autism and/or complex support needs.
- Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments.
- Community access and social participation.
- Positive Behaviour Support frameworks.
