ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a skilled trades professional to join our Building Services team on a casual basis. As an Events Duty Technician, you will support base building technical services and general building operations during events, across our precinct.

The role involves responding to a wide range of operational and maintenance requests, including replacing or unblocking toilets, adjusting temperature settings, resolving lift operational issues, investigating gas odours and ensuring items awaiting repair are safely managed.

Working closely with internal teams and contractors, you will respond to maintenance needs promptly and effectively, helping to ensure the functionality, safety and presentation of our facilities. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced event environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide assistance and troubleshooting for technical issues encountered by employees or patrons, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general building operations.
- Keep accurate and comprehensive records of maintenance activities, technical issues and resolutions.
- Respond promptly to technical emergencies, minimizing disruption to events and precinct operations.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs and potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards and company policies.

Our precinct operates 24/7,



with work often occurring during early mornings, late nights and weekends, particularly during peak event periods. You will be assigned shifts based on event requirements across our precinct.

ABOUT YOU

You are a practical and adaptable trades or facilities professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping facilities secure, functional and well presented. You are confident responding to a broad range of maintenance and operational issues, can remain calm under pressure, and are comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

You have

- Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information clearly,
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. with the ability to manage competing tasks.
- A high level of attention to detail in documentation and procedures.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, respond to emergencies, and work varied hours in a 24/7 event environment.
- Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance, with the ability to work across multiple trades and building services.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment, along with a thorough understanding of OH&S; practices and safety regulations.
- Confidence using technology and electronic systems to maintain accurate maintenance and operational records.
- A current First Aid certification
