About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Engineer with a strong background in overhead design and specific experience with Powercor systems to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, maintaining, and optimizing overhead electrical distribution networks, ensuring reliable and productive power delivery to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop overhead electrical distribution systems, including pole configurations, conductor sizing, and equipment placement.
- Conduct load flow, short-circuit, and protective device coordination studies to enhance system performance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines in all overhead distribution projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and maintenance, to support ongoing system improvements.
- Utilize advanced modeling software to simulate system behavior and identify potential enhancements.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.





Minimum of 5 years’ experience in overhead power distribution design and analysis, with specific experience in utilities.

Proficiency in electrical design and simulation software such as ETAP, PSS®E, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.

Strong understanding of Australian electrical codes and standards, including IEEE and NEC.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on optimizing system performance.

Engineers Australia recognition if your training was completed internationally.

Desirable:

Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.

Experience with renewable energy integration into overhead power distribution systems.

Familiarity with smart grid technologies and SCADA systems.

Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
