THE OPERATION

This family-owned farming operation is located in the Croppa Creek / North Star area of New South Wales, running an established broadacre cereal cropping program currently focused on wheat. A small feedlot also forms part of the wider operation, however this position is dedicated specifically to the cropping side of the business.

All cropping operations are completed in-house, including planting, spraying and harvesting. The machinery fleet is predominantly John Deere, with some CAT equipment, tractors, sprayers and headers are regularly updated.

With modern machinery and technology playing an important part in the operation, they are looking for someone who is confident with GPS and current broadacre equipment.

THE ROLE

This is a permanent broadacre position rather than a seasonal harvest role. They are looking for someone who wants to become part of the team longer term.

The role will include:

Operating modern broadacre tractors, sprayers and headers

GPS and precision farming technology

Chemical mixing and spraying

Sprayer clean-out and decontamination

Planting and harvesting

General machinery operation and farm duties

- Assisting across the cropping program as required

Training can be provided around the farm's individual systems and equipment, however the applicant must already have a positive foundation in broadacre machinery operation. They particularly need someone who is comfortable with GPS and modern machinery technology.

Several accommodation options are available depending on the successful applicant's circumstances.

A work ute is provided.

TEAM & LONGEVITY The operation has a stable, long-term management team and an experienced workforce. They are looking for an individual, couple or family who would like to become part of the team and settle into the area long term.

While partner employment is not available within the operation, there may be employment opportunities within the local area.

LOCAL AREA

Croppa Creek and North Star both provide options for families. Primary schooling is available at Croppa Creek, with a school bus service available, as well as schooling at North Star.

IDEAL APPLICANT

Someone with genuine broadacre cropping experience who is confident operating modern machinery and understands GPS technology. Spraying experience is important, including chemical mixing, application and equipment clean-out.

Above all, they are looking for someone practical, switched-on and capable of working with modern farming equipment who wants a permanent position and somewhere to settle longer term.
