Australian Government Opportunity

SkyDB is seeking experienced Functional Automation Test Analysts to support a major digital transformation program within an Australian Government agency.

This is a hands-on testing opportunity combining functional/manual testing with UI and API test automation, with a particular focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions, including Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse.

The successful candidates will join an established testing practice and work within multidisciplinary delivery teams to ensure digital services are reliable, functional and ready for production.

About the Role

You will be responsible for testing digital applications and their associated end-to-end business processes across multiple projects.

A major focus of the position is developing and maintaining automated regression testing across both UI and API/integration layers and ensuring automated tests are incorporated into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

This isn’t purely a manual testing position. We’re looking for candidates who can combine strong test analysis skills with practical automation capability.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse business and system requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform functional, UI, integration, system, regression and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Test Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform applications and associated business processes.
- Test solutions incorporating Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse.
- Design, develop, execute and maintain automated UI regression test suites.
- Develop automated tests using tools such as Playwright, Selenium,



EasyRepro or similar frameworks.
- Perform API and integration testing across backend services and enterprise integrations.
- Automate API testing using Postman/Newman, REST Assured, Playwright API testing or similar tools.
- Validate APIs, authentication flows, Dataverse plugins/custom APIs and system integrations.
- Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, allowing tests to execute as part of build and release processes.
- Identify, document, manage and retest defects through to resolution.
- Maintain test documentation, reporting and traceability.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product teams and other technical specialists.
- Work across multiple concurrent projects and adapt quickly as priorities, technologies and business requirements change.

What We’re Looking For The successful candidates should demonstrate:





- Experience testing Dynamics 365 and/or Power Platform applications.
- Strong experience across manual and automated testing.
- Ability to develop and maintain UI automation frameworks and regression suites.
- Strong API and integration testing capability.
- Experience integrating automated test suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery and modern testing methodologies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar applications and business processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Highly Desirable

Experience or qualifications in the following will be highly regarded:

- ISTQB Automation Certification or equivalent
- Advanced Dynamics 365 / Power Platform testing
- Dataverse server-side or plugin testing
- Power BI testing
- Environment variable and secret configuration testing
- API Management policy validation
- Jira or similar test/defect management platforms

Security Clearance A current Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance is preferred.

Highly suitable candidates who do not currently hold Baseline but are eligible and able to obtain the required clearance may also be considered.

Location & Working Arrangements

This is a Canberra-based hybrid opportunity, with flexible office and WFH arrangements.

ACT-based candidates are strongly preferred. Highly suitable interstate candidates may still be considered.
