The role of the Speech Pathologist (Grade 2 or Grade 3) is to:

- Deliver high-quality Speech Pathology assessment, treatment and management services in line with contemporary evidence-based practice.
- Coordinate and manage clinical services within designated areas to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Provide education, support and clinical supervision to staff, students and Allied Health Assistants as appropriate.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement, service development and evidence-based practice initiatives that enhance patient outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, families and external stakeholders to achieve optimal care outcomes.
- Contribute to departmental objectives through participation in service planning, policy development, education and professional activities.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in speech pathology.
- Eligibility for Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist status with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Specialist skills and experience in at least one of the following areas of speech pathology practice:
- Paediatric feeding and dysphagia management (inpatient, including Special Care Nursery, and/or outpatient settings)
- Adult dysphagia management,



including VFSS competency
- Laryngectomy management and/or experience managing head and neck cancer
- Voice disorders
- Rehabilitation in inpatient and/or outpatient settings (adults or paediatrics)

- Experience in supervision of speech pathologists, speech pathology students and/or Allied Health Assistants.
