Good Shepherd Lutheran College invites applications from suitably qualified teachers interested in the leadership opportunity of Head of Student Learning, Teaching & Transitions (Years 6-9).

This Position of Additional Responsibility (PAR) provides an opportunity to lead the strategic direction of learning, teaching and curriculum delivery across the middle years, while supporting student achievement, engagement and successful pathways.

The successful applicant will continue in a substantive teaching position while undertaking this significant leadership role.

About the Opportunity The Head of Student Learning, Teaching & Transitions (Years 6-9) holds a key leadership position responsible for overseeing curriculum, assessment and learning program delivery across the middle years. Working collaboratively with Learning Area Coordinators, Year Level Coordinators, staff, students and families, the successful applicant will lead initiatives that strengthen teaching practice, support student success and enhance transition pathways.

Key areas of focus include:

- Curriculum leadership and quality assurance
- Teaching and learning excellence across Years 6-9
- Student achievement, engagement and differentiated learning pathways
- Leadership, mentoring and development of teaching staff
- Data-informed decision making and continuous improvement
- Transition programs and pathway development
- Partnerships with families and the wider community




- Strategic initiatives that support student retention and success

What We Offer

- Permanent full-time teaching position with a three-year leadership appointment as Head of Student Learning, Teaching & Transitions (Years 6-9)
- Additional PAR allowance of approximately $21,130 gross per annum ($22,040 from July 2027)
- 0.5 FTE leadership release
