The Role The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
As an APS 5 Officer within the Australian Submarine Agency (ASA), you will contribute to the delivery of key business services and operational outcomes across either Human Resources, Workforce Planning, Recruitment, Governance and/or Administration functions.
Working under limited direction, you will provide advice and support, undertake research and analysis, coordinate activities, and apply relevant legislation, policies, procedures and governance frameworks to achieve business outcomes.
Depending on the role, you may support workforce management activities, recruitment processes, governance and secretariat functions, records and administrative management, reporting, or the delivery of corporate programs and initiatives.
You will be responsible for managing your own workload, exercising sound judgement within your area of responsibility, and delivering high-quality, customer-focused services.
You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, support business priorities and contribute to continuous improvement activities. As a valued member of the team, you will share knowledge, support team objectives and help foster a professional, collaborative and high-performing workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Contributing to the delivery of Human Resources, Recruitment, Governance and/or Administration activities, projects and initiatives.
- Provide research, analysis and advice on a range of workforce, recruitment, governance, administrative and business-related matters.
- Support recruitment and talent acquisition processes, including candidate management, assessment activities and onboarding arrangements.
- Assist with the delivery of HR services,
workforce initiatives and employee lifecycle activities.
- Support governance and secretariat functions, including the preparation of meeting papers, agendas, minutes, action tracking and compliance reporting.
- Undertake administrative and coordination activities to support efficient business operations and service delivery.
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies, procedures and governance requirements.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, briefing materials and other business documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and service delivery outcomes.
- Manage competing priorities, resolve routine issues and escalate complex matters where required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive, professional and high-performing team environment.

Security Clearance:
