Introduction
CC Pines is looking for an HSE Coordinator to join our team on the Narrabeen Sports Track project. This is a 2-month contract, four days a week, and we need someone who can start immediately. If you know your way around Hammertech and don't need hand-holding on-site, keep reading.
About Us
CC Pines is an Australian-owned, family-founded construction company based on Sydney's Northern Beaches. We deliver complex commercial and government projects for clients including the Australian Department of Defence, DFAT, and the US Department of Defence. We're humble, hungry, and smart, and we back people who bring the same to the table.
Life on the Northern Beaches
Based out of Narrabeen, you're minutes from some of Sydney's best beaches and a short drive from Oxford Falls HQ. Trade the office view for surf checks on your lunch break
Description The Project The Narrabeen Sports Track is a civil construction project involving earthworks, track surfacing, drainage, and associated infrastructure works within an active community and sporting precinct. Work is happening alongside public access considerations, so managing safety around pedestrians, local residents, and other site users is part of the job, not just the trades in office.
The Role
We need an experienced HSE Coordinator to keep safety front and centre on-site. This isn't a desk-bound compliance role. You'll be out on the track most of the day, working directly with supervisors, subcontractors,
and machine operators to keep the job moving safely.
A typical day looks like:
- Pre-start toolbox talks covering the day's activities, hazards, and any changes to the work area
- Walking the site to check plant, equipment, and work areas are safe before work ramps up
- Monitoring high-risk activities like earthworks, plant movement, and work near public boundaries
- Updating and closing out inspections, permits, and safety records in Hammertech
- Following up on corrective actions from previous audits or incidents
- On-the-spot coaching with crews and subcontractors when you spot unsafe behaviour
- Liaising with the site supervisor and project manager on any safety issues affecting the program
- Managing public safety measures, given the project's proximity to community and recreational areas
Skills And Experiences
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an HSE role, with a background in civil, built, or major infrastructure construction
- Proficiency in Hammertech is essential
- Available to start immediately
- Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and industry standards
- Relevant HSE qualifications (Cert IV in WHS or equivalent)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence behaviour across all levels of a site team
- A proactive, no-nonsense approach to site safety culture
