Import Operations Coordinator – International Freight Murarrie, Brisbane QLD | Full-time | $75,000 – $100,000 + Super An established international freight forwarding business is looking for an experienced Import Operations Coordinator to join its Brisbane team.

This is a true end-to-end import operations role where you’ll take ownership of your own portfolio of clients and manage their shipments from initial job registration right through to final delivery.

Rather than handling just one part of the forwarding process, you’ll be responsible for the complete import journey — opening and managing files, coordinating international freight, working closely with Customs and Quarantine, arranging transport and ensuring cargo reaches the customer efficiently.

The Role Managing your own portfolio of clients, you’ll be responsible for the full operational process across predominantly import freight.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

- Managing end-to-end import shipments across international sea and air freight

- Registering new jobs and accurately opening and maintaining shipment files

- Managing a dedicated portfolio of clients and acting as their key operational contact

- Coordinating with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines and other service providers

- Monitoring shipments from origin through to arrival in Australia

- Preparing files and documentation for Customs clearance and Quarantine/Biosecurity requirements

- Working closely with the internal Customs team to ensure shipments progress efficiently through clearance

- Coordinating inspections, holds and other clearance requirements where necessary

- Arranging container transport, cartage and final-mile delivery

- Liaising with transport providers,



depots and terminals

- Coordinating final delivery of cargo to the client

- Providing proactive shipment updates throughout the process

- Managing shipment documentation, costings, accruals and supplier invoices

- Identifying potential delays or operational issues and resolving them before they impact the customer

- Building strong, long-term relationships with your portfolio of clients

What We’re Looking For This role will suit someone who already understands international freight forwarding and is comfortable owning a shipment from start to finish.

Ideally, You’ll Bring

- Previous experience in international freight forwarding / import operations

- Strong end-to-end import knowledge

- Experience managing your own portfolio of customers

- Understanding of Customs and Quarantine/Biosecurity processes

- Experience coordinating sea freight and ideally air freight imports

- Strong knowledge of cartage and final delivery processes

- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple live shipments and competing deadlines

- Strong attention to detail and file-management skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving

- CargoWise experience highly regarded
