More than anarchivist,you'llbe a storyteller, working closely withstudents, staff,alumniand the wider schoolcommunity.You'llattend events, uncover hiddentreasures, curate significant memorabilia, and help bring theschool's heritage to life. With the school's 150-year celebrationson the horizon, this is an exciting opportunity to playacentral rolein capturing andshowcasinga landmarkchapter in its history.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and curate the School’sHeritage Collection, including physical and digitalarchives
- Support school events, alumniengagement, philanthropy initiatives and teaching programsthrough archival resources and historicalresearch
- Coordinatethedigitisation, cataloguing and preservation of archivalmaterials in line with bestpractice
- Manage electronic records,retrievalprocessesand archival systemsinaccordance withretention and compliancerequirements
- Promote archive awareness andengagement across theSchoolcommunity throughexhibitions, publications, socialmediaand volunteercoordination
- Model and live the CaulfieldGrammar School values andbehaviours.
Skills and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualificationsin archives, library studies, records management, history,museum studies,educationor a relateddiscipline
- Experience managing archival orheritage collections, including digital archives anddigitisation systems
- Strong knowledge of recordsmanagement principles, retentionschedulesandarchival best practice, with excellent organisational andcataloguing skills
- Excellent communication andstakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to workeffectively with staff, students, alumni and volunteers and acommitment to continuous improvement and professionalgrowth
- Hold or willing to obtain anEmployment WorkingwithChildrenCheck.
