About the Position

As a Payroll Administration Officer, you will play an significant role in delivering accurate and efficient payroll services across Arts Centre Melbourne. Working within the Finance team, you will maintain employee records, respond to payroll enquiries and support payroll administration, reporting and audit activities. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to provide professional, confidential and customer-focused support to employees and internal stakeholders.

Variable Time 0.52 FTE Fixed Term September 2027 Band 2.3 | $73,213.00 pro rata + 12% superannuation

Your Skills and Experience

- Experience in payroll, finance or HR administration
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience processing employee payroll data
- Ability to manage payroll records and documentation
- Experience handling confidential information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service and employee support skills
- Experience managing shared inboxes or high-volume enquiries
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks and deadlines
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Strong Microsoft Outlook and Excel capability
- Experience with Chris21 or similar payroll systems (desirable)
- Experience with rostering and time attendance systems (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Reliable, professional and approachable communication style
- Valid working rights in Australia




- Satisfactory National Police Check required

The Finance Department is part of the Corporate Services Pillar and partners with teams across Arts Centre Melbourne to deliver strong financial governance, reporting and business support. Bringing together expertise in accounting operations, compliance, reporting and financial performance, the team provides the financial insight and controls that enable the organisation to achieve its strategic and operational objectives
