ABOUT THE ORGANISATION Our client is a well-established legal practice located in Perth. Over 40 years, this firm has built a robust reputation in WA, providing a wide range of legal services, including commercial and property transactions, court disputes, family law services and general law. The practice is currently experiencing strong growth in its property and commercial work.

The renowned legal practice prides itself on providing ongoing holistic legal advice to its clients whilst addressing specific needs from time to time. A personal relationship with clients is a priority, as is timely advice and trusted service. The practice is seeking a Junior Lawyer (or an experienced Settlement Agent) to join its dynamic and enthusiastic team, with a focus on property settlements.

ABOUT THE ROLE This role is focused primarily on property settlements, with the opportunity to develop into broader commercial work over time. You will be responsible for managing a busy settlement caseload — approximately 10 settlements per week across residential and commercial transactions. Backend administrative support is available, but you will be expected to manage the bulk of your caseload independently.

You will also be required to:

- Manage residential and commercial property settlements end to end
- Liaise with clients, agents, banks and other parties throughout the settlement process
- Prepare and review contracts of sale and settlement documentation
- Draft correspondence and respond to client queries in a timely manner
- Where desired and capacity allows, assist with commercial documents such as leasing agreements, loan agreements, wills and estates




- Conduct legal research as required

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties. You will be expected to perform different tasks to meet the organisation's overall objectives.

Please note: this role has genuine scope to move into commercial/property law after approximately 12 months, as the practice's commercial workload continues to grow.

ABOUT YOU: Ideal Skills Have:

- Completed degree in law, or equivalent experience as a qualified Settlement Agent
- 1-2 years' experience handling property settlements (residential and/or commercial)
- Strong aptitude for learning new areas of law
- Sound knowledge of legal terminology and conveyancing processes
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume caseload
- High level of self-confidence and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent writing abilities

Ability to:
- Handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Communicate clearly with clients and other parties
- Work flexibly to deliver on client demands
- Interact with people from different backgrounds
