About The Opportunity

- Provide academic leadership for the Electronic Music and Sound Design (EMSD) program, driving its growth, visibility, curriculum development and student recruitment.
- Deliver high-quality teaching, supervision and mentorship across undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs in electronic music composition, music technology and sound design, with a focus on contemporary popular electronic music.
- Undertake impactful research and creative practice while building industry, community and research partnerships that enhance student experience, engagement and the reputation of the Conservatorium.

About You





- PhD in a relevant discipline and professional industry experience in electronic music, music technology, sound design, music software development or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in electronic music composition, music production and technology-driven creative practice, including computational, algorithmic and/or code-based approaches to music making.
- Proven track record in teaching and curriculum development, including delivering innovative learning experiences and one-to-one or classroom-based instruction in contemporary popular electronic music.
- Strong research and/or creative practice profile evidenced through publications, performances, recordings, creative works and emerging success in attracting competitive funding.
- Advanced proficiency with industry-standard music technologies (particularly Ableton Live and Max/MSP or equivalent), combined with a commitment to collaboration, inclusion and student success.
