The Role

As the APS 6 Logistics Assurance Business Analyst, you will contribute to Defence logistics compliance and assurance through the application of business intelligence and data analysis. This position supports the delivery of inventory assurance programs, including stocktake, compliance and performance reporting and monitoring to strengthen inventory accountability, logistics governance and informed decision-making across Defence.

In this role, you will:

- Undertake business process analytics and data analysis to identify trends, compliance risks, inventory discrepancies and opportunities for process improvement over Defence’s inventory management systems.
- Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms and platforms, and business intelligence products to support compliance monitoring.
- Support the planning and execution of annual Assurance Programs, including National Asset and Inventory Sample. This may include sample testing, stocktake execution, inventory verification, evidence gathering, investigation, reconciliation and validation activities in accordance with Defence policy and procedures.
- Support the development and maintenance of logistics assurance procedures, process maps, work instructions and supporting governance documentation.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Defence’s Statistician, Groups, Services and the Australian National Audit Office to support logistics assurance and compliance outcomes.
- Provide support across LAB functions to meet emerging priorities and operational requirements.

About our Team The Directorate of Logistics Assurance Programs (DLAP) provides the Defence Logistics Authority with capability to influence logistics performance across Defence. To do this, DLAP executes within the Defence Inventory and Asset Assurance Framework to measure the health of the overall Defence inventory at the organisational level. DLAP is responsible to enabling technical control over Defence logistics compliance and assurance through processes, systems interpretation, stakeholder engagement, reporting and logistics performance analysis.

Security Clearance:

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
