The Opportunity
As the Maintenance Support Officer at the City of Perth, you will coordinate and process enquiries relating to planned, reactive and corrective maintenance across a diverse portfolio of City properties, including Council House, Perth Town Hall, the City of Perth Library and the City’s car parks.
Reporting to the Facilities Management Planner within our Facilities Management team, your responsibilities would primarily include:
- Coordinating service requests and work orders to support the timely delivery of planned and reactive maintenance;
- Supporting the management of contractors and contracts, including monitoring performance, identifying deficiencies and assisting with variations;
- Conducting quotation and tender activities, preparing purchase requisitions and verifying contractor quotes and payment claims;
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, databases, procedures, permits and key and access-control systems;
- Monitoring expenditure and preparing reports, minutes and other operational documentation; and
- Providing responsive, knowledgeable and customer-focused support to City employees, contractors and members of the public.
About You To succeed in this role, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance, general site services or a related environment;
- The ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders while delivering exceptional customer service;
- Robust teamwork skills and the ability to work cooperatively, share information and recognise the contributions of others;
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience using computerised systems and Microsoft Office applications; and
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to safe working practices.
Experience using building and maintenance management systems, access-control or surveillance systems, or working within local government would be highly regarded.
You must also be available to participate in an on-call roster, including after-hours, weekend and public holiday coverage, to meet operational requirements.

Eligibility To be eligible to work for us, you will need to demonstrate:

- A current ‘C’ class Australian driver’s licence; and
- A satisfactory National Police Clearance dated within the past three months.
