You celebrate differences and value what a diverse team offers.
You'll make a tangible impact on the people of NSW, using your finance and accounting expertise to help deliver a sustainable and thriving transport network for generations to come.
In this role, you'll:
Join a team delivering high-quality financial governance, accounting policy and compliance across Sydney Metro. This newly created role will play a pivotal part in strengthening Sydney Metro's financial control environment and supporting sound financial stewardship across one of NSW's most significant infrastructure programs.
You will provide expert technical accounting advice on significant and complex transactions, develop and implement accounting policies and frameworks, and ensure the consistent application of Australian Accounting Standards across the organisation. You will help shape accounting outcomes, support business decision-making, and ensure technical positions are robust, well documented and defensible.
Working across divisions and with Transport cluster stakeholders, you will drive the continuous improvement of financial governance, reporting quality and compliance processes. You will develop practical guidance and frameworks that support accurate, transparent and standards-aligned financial reporting and enable informed business outcomes.
A key focus of the role will be leading Sydney Metro's compliance with NSW Treasury's TPG 24-08 CFO Certification requirements and any subsequent Treasury policies. This includes managing the annual controls testing program, overseeing risk-based controls assurance activities, maintaining the internal controls framework, assessing control deficiencies, and preparing briefings for Executives, the Board and the Audit and Risk Committee.
You will work closely with Risk and Internal Audit functions to ensure the controls framework, controls library and annual assurance program remain fit-for-purpose and aligned to business risks and regulatory requirements.
The role will also lead Sydney Metro's engagement with external assurance providers, coordinating responses to Audit Office reporting, management letter findings, Auditor-General reports and performance audits. You will oversee the implementation and monitoring of audit recommendations and support continuous improvement across the organisation's financial control environment.
