About the role
The Senior Manager, Obligations & Controls is a leadership role within the Fund Services business unit responsible for overseeing risk, controls and compliance activities across Fund Services, including Finance, Group Tax, Enablement and Data. The role leads the maintenance and enhancement of the control environment, risk management framework, compliance obligations and governance reporting, while ensuring effective oversight of incidents, remediation activities and regulatory readiness.
This role is critical to ensuring Fund Services can effectively identify, assess and manage risk, meet regulatory obligations and maintain a strong control environment. Working closely with business leaders, Risk, Regulatory Affairs and key stakeholders, you will provide assurance, drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of accountability that supports strong member outcomes and operational resilience.
Key accountabilities
- Lead the uplift and maintenance of the Fund Services control workplace.
- Work with the business on risk identification, assessment,
reporting and maintenance of risk registers and GRC records.
- Manage compliance obligations, controls testing and remediation activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate governance reporting, regulatory readiness activities and incident management processes.
- Build team capability and drive a strong risk culture through stakeholder engagement and leadership.
What will you bring?
- Demonstrated experience in risk management, controls oversight and remediation within superannuation or regulated financial services environments.
- Strong knowledge of prudential and regulatory requirements, including CPS 230 and operational risk frameworks.
- Proven ability to uplift control environments and manage complex remediation and treatment plans.
- Experience identifying, assessing and escalating risks while partnering effectively with senior stakeholders and regulators.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and experience with Governance, Risk & Compliance systems such as Archer.
