- Talk through the customer’s concern at drop-off and road-test the vehicle where needed to confirm the fault.
- Use scan tools and workshop test equipment to find mechanical and electrical faults in engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and suspension.
- Carry out scheduled services, including oil and filter changes, fluid checks, lubrication and basic engine tune work to manufacturer intervals.
- Strip, inspect and refit assemblies such as engines, gearboxes, steering and brake components, and replace worn or damaged parts.
- Fit recent parts, then reassemble and adjust so the vehicle operates correctly after the repair.
- Check work against workshop manuals and technical data for the make and model.
- Test the vehicle after the repair and make further adjustments if it is not performing as it should.
- Complete job cards and record parts and labour so invoices and service history are accurate.
- Keep the work bay, tools and equipment clean and follow workplace health and safety rules in the workshop.
- Tell the workshop supervisor when a job needs extra parts or more time before the customer is called.
Pay: $78,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
