The Opportunity

Are you passionate about workplace mental health and wellbeing and looking for a role where you can make a genuine and measurable difference?

MATES in Construction SA is seeking an experienced Organisational Health & Wellbeing Consultant to join our team on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with organisations and worksites across South Australia, helping them identify and address psychosocial risks, strengthen workplace culture and implement practical strategies that improve mental health and wellbeing.

You’ll work closely with the CEO of MATES in Construction SA, the MATES SA team and the MATES Australia National Blueprint Team to deliver the Blueprint for Better Mental Health and Suicide Prevention across South Australian workplaces.

What You'll Be Doing

You will play a key role in delivering the Blueprint framework across SA workplaces, including:





- Leading the rollout of the Blueprint framework across South Australian worksites.

- Conducting workplace audits and psychosocial risk assessments.

- Delivering training and facilitating Action Planning Workshops.

- Coordinating People at Work (PAW) surveys and developing tailored wellbeing strategies.

- Supporting organisations to identify and manage psychosocial risks in line with WHS legislation.

- Building strong relationships with everyone from site crews and apprentices through to senior leaders.

- Facilitating meaningful conversations that encourage cultural change.

- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on project outcomes and impact.

- Working collaboratively with the MATES SA team and national Blueprint team.

What You'll Bring

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with genuine people skills.

You will ideally have:

- Strong knowledge of psychosocial hazards and workplace wellbeing strategies.

- Experience working with WHS frameworks and risk management.

- Exceptional communication, presentation and facilitation skills.

- The ability to engage confidently with people at all levels of an organisation.

- A genuine passion for improving workplace culture, mental health and wellbeing.

- Experience working within, or a strong understanding of, the construction industry.

- Experience in, or sound understanding of, research and program evaluation principles.

Desirable experience includes:

- Familiarity with the Blueprint framework or similar tools such as PAW.





- Mental health qualifications such as Mental Health First Aid or ASIST.

- Experience delivering projects within grant-funded or government-facing environments.
