A large, regulated organisation operating in a complex, project-driven and safety-critical workplace is seeking an experienced People Advisory Manager.

A subject-matter-expert leadership role within the People & Culture function. You'll lead a People Advisory team delivering consistent, legally sound advice across industrial and employee relations, employment conditions, performance and behaviour management, investigations (including psychosocial incidents), and policy and compliance.

As the primary escalation point for complex ER and IR matters, you'll direct sensitive, high-risk cases while equipping your team to manage a high-volume caseload with quality and care. You'll also proactively manage industrial risk, maintain legislative compliance, and partner with the wider P&C; team to support people leaders.

About the Role

- Leading delivery of legally sound advisory services across IR/ER matters, employment conditions, performance management, investigations and departures.
- Maintaining governance and compliance with employment legislation, industrial instruments and regulatory standards, including policy currency and representing the function in audits.
- Proactively identifying and mitigating ER and IR risk across the organisation.
- Collaborating closely with Legal, Security Operations and other internal stakeholders on complex and sensitive matters.
- Coaching leaders on their obligations and fostering a culture of early intervention and accountability.
- Leading and developing a high-performing advisory team through mentoring, clear direction and an inclusive culture.

- Driving continuous improvement of P&C; practices and processes, using data to enhance service quality.

Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated success in a People Advisory Manager or equivalent senior HR advisory role, managing a team and a complex, high-volume caseload, ideally in a large, regulated or project-driven environment (e.g. defence or professional services).
- Deep knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations instruments, modern award interpretation and ER best practice, with a track record of resolving complex matters to sound, risk-based outcomes.
- Proven ability to coach and influence senior leaders, translating complex legislative and policy obligations into practical guidance.
- Strong, transparent and empowering team leadership style, with experience developing and retaining a team of HR professionals in a rapid-paced environment.
- Commercial and political astuteness, with strong stakeholder engagement skills and sound judgement on matters carrying organisational, reputational or legal risk.
- Experience with HRIS platforms (Workday or equivalent) and strong Microsoft Office proficiency; familiarity with HR service management and reporting tools is a plus.
- Flexibility to support operations across global time zones and to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Culture and Benefits A high-impact, high-visibility leadership role at the heart of a complex, values-driven organisation, shaping how people practices, policy and industrial risk are managed, while leading a talented advisory team. A market-competitive salary, plus additional superannuation and leave.
