About your role:

Pre Operative Nurse coordinates and delivers pre-operative care, ensuring patients are clinically prepared, informed and ready for surgery while supporting efficient theatre operations and a positive patient experience

- Admitting patients on the day of their procedure.

- Completing pre-operative assessments and health checks.

- Confirming medical history, medications, allergies and fasting status.

- Ensuring consent forms and documentation are complete.

- Taking observations (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.).

- Preparing patients for surgery, including pre-operative medications and surgical site checks.





- Providing information and reassurance to patients and families.

- Liaising with surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre staff and ward nurses.

- Coordinating patient flow to ensure theatre lists run efficiently.

About You:

- Valid registration with AHPRA.

- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

- Previous Anaesthetic and/or Recovery experience.

- Demonstrate a commitment to providing patient centered care.

- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

- Willingness to do call.

- Sound knowledge of Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations, Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control and their impact on the delivery of care.
