Principal Resource Geologist

AMC Consultants, now part of AFRY, is seeking a Principal Resource Geologist to join its Geosciences team. The role focuses on providing practical and technical expertise to help clients improve project geology and orebody knowledge across the mining lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Geosciences team and collaborate with other AMC service lines.
- Undertake explicit and implicit geological modelling.
- Conduct Mineral Resource estimation and reporting.
- Perform geostatistical analysis, variography and QAQC data analysis.
- Conduct technical reviews and audits of client projects.
- Prepare technical proposals and reports.
- Manage project schedules and budgets.
- Develop and maintain client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
- Contribute to geological modelling, resource estimation, data analysis, mining studies, due diligence, reconciliation audits, exploration support, grade control and geometallurgy projects.
Required Skills And Experience
- Minimum 10 years of practical experience relevant to the role, ideally including at least 5 years of mining and drilling experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of Mineral Resource estimation, geological modelling and applied mining geology.
- Practical understanding of geostatistics, variography and estimation methods.
- Experience in open-pit and underground mining.
- Experience with drilling programmes, sampling,
assaying and geological data management.
- Experience across a range of commodities, particularly critical, base and precious metals.
- Familiarity with international reporting standards including JORC, CIM/NI 43-101, S-K 1300, SAMREC and CRIRSCO.
- Experience with mining/geostatistical software such as Datamine, Leapfrog, Isatis, Supervisor, Vulcan or Micromine.
- Ability to act as a Competent/Qualified Person under relevant reporting standards in at least one commodity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage time, budgets and projects effectively.
- Strong industry network and willingness to contribute to business development.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Valid driver's licence and passport, with ability to travel internationally.
- Must have working rights in the country of employment.

Qualification Degree in Geology required; postgraduate qualifications well regarded. Membership of a recognised professional organisation such as AusIMM or AIG is required.
