Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivery and commissioning of mining-related projects safely, on time, and within budget. This role supports engineering, construction, maintenance, and operational improvement projects across mine infrastructure, processing plants, civil works, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and underground operations.

The Project Engineer works closely with operations teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical, safety, environmental, and commercial requirements.

Reporting to the Projects Superintendent, this role is offered on an 8/6 days roster.

Responsibilities

As Project Engineer, your duties will entail the following, however not limited to:

- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects and project execution.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including design, procurement, and construction.
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor project progress and provide daily updates inclusive of cost, schedule and risk.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Manage relationships with internal / external clients, contractors, and vendors.
- Continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture aligned with site standards
- Ensure all works comply with WHS legislation, mining regulations, and company procedures
- Participate in risk assessments, JHAs, toolbox talks, and incident investigations
- Ensure environmental and statutory compliance throughout project execution




- Track project expenditure against approved budgets
- Assist with procurement, tender evaluations, and contractor management
- Review invoices, variations, and progress claims
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements

Qualifications

About You:

To be successful, you will bring the following skills, experience and personal attributes:

- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or relevant discipline)
- Previous experience in mining, construction, heavy industry, or resources projects
- Strong understanding of project management principles
- Knowledge of mining safety regulations and site procedures
- Proficiency with project scheduling and reporting tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera)
