The Role The APS 5 Project Support Officer (Fundamental Inputs to Capability) provides high-quality project coordination and administrative support to ensure the successful delivery of organisational projects and programs. Working with limited supervision, the role supports project governance, reporting, stakeholder engagement, risk and issue management, and the maintenance of project documentation.
The position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while contributing to project outcomes in a collaborative team environment.
About our Team
Our team is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of an ACAT 1 capability project through the Government approval process and progress into acquisition. Key functions include project coordination, schedule and risk management, stakeholder engagement, governance support, requirements development, and preparation of decision-support documentation.
The team works closely with Defence stakeholders, industry partners and capability managers to ensure that project activities align with strategic capability objectives, investment priorities and Defence's Integrated Investment Program.
By providing robust project governance, accurate reporting and effective coordination across multiple stakeholders, the team contributes to the organisation's objective of delivering capability that enhances Defence's operational effectiveness, supports national security outcomes, and achieves value for money for the Commonwealth.

- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and build valuable working relationships as the sole point of contact (POC) for assistance and general project enquiries.
- Demonstrate integrity, curiosity, resilience, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively and independently within an integrated team.
Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
