Recoveries and Settlements Consultant

12-month Contract | Full-time | Melbourne, Brisbane or Toowoomba

Join Suncorp’s Recoveries and Settlements team, where you’ll manage a portfolio of claims, identify recovery opportunities, negotiate fair settlement outcomes and deliver positive outcomes for customers and stakeholders.

This is a great opportunity to build capability in a specialised area, strengthen your negotiation and decision-making skills, and gain exposure to a broad range of claims and recovery scenarios.

What you’ll do

- Manage, proactively progress and finalise a portfolio of claims across Recoveries and Settlements
- Identify recovery opportunities and negotiate fair, commercially sound settlement outcomes
- Review claim information and estimates to make informed decisions within delegated authority
- Communicate with customers and third parties, including managing complaints, vulnerability and financial hardship with empathy
- Manage excess collection and maintain accurate claims records
- Balance customer needs with commercial outcomes while maintaining strong risk and compliance standards
- Manage competing priorities and meet customer commitments
- Contribute to team performance and continuous improvement

- Experience in claims, insurance, complaints, recoveries, settlements or a similar environment is highly regarded

Role details

- 12-month contract commencing 19 October 2026

- Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

- Melbourne, Brisbane or Toowoomba

- Hybrid working, with up to 4 days from home subject to leader discretion

- 5 weeks in-office training plus 2 weeks supported onboarding
- Limited WFH during training, depending on business needs
