The Retail Merchandiser is responsible for driving sales of our newspapers through the newsagent, supermarket, retail, distributor and accommodation channels. You will build and maintain strong relationships and provide a high level of customer support to existing accounts to maximise retail sales of Nine publications, as well as actively seeking new business opportunities.

Day to day you will:

- Visit retailers working to a call cycle targeting metropolitan areas, with seasonal visits to regional areas.

- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key retailers, distributors, and hotel partners.

- Optimise product displays, branding, and signage to drive sales and boost visibility.

- Proactively target and secure new business opportunities through direct sales outreach.

- Act as a primary point of contact for the Circulation team.

- Liaise with logistics contractors to resolve operational and delivery issues promptly.

Please note you will be required to have a current and valid Australian Drivers licence for this position. A company vehicle will be provided to support you in performing this role.

What you'll bring:

- Prior experience in retail, merchandising, sales, or customer service environments.

- Strong understanding of retail operations and territory planning.

- High self-motivation with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.

- Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

- Dedicated customer focus combined with effective negotiation skills.

- A current, valid Australian driver's licence.

- Familiarity with CRM platforms (such as Salesforce) is advantageous.
