In the role, you will be part of the Compliance Team within CSC’s Legal, Risk & Governance (LRG) function. You will support CSC to operate within its risk appetite and meet its regulatory obligations and fiduciary responsibilities as trustee for Australian Government superannuation schemes. You will provide high quality, business-focused compliance services to support CSC’s business objectives, and work proactively and independently, with the support, mentoring and supervision of senior members of the team.
LRG team provides in-house legal, risk, compliance and governance support across CSC, working closely with business areas to manage risk, meet regulatory requirements and support sound governance.
About the Team:
The External Financial Adviser (EFA) team plays a critical role in supporting external financial advisers and ensuring they receive a consistent, responsive and high-quality service experience. Working across service operations, digital service channels, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement, the team acts as a key connection point between advisers and CSC. The team is focused on delivering operational excellence while ensuring adviser needs are represented across business initiatives, technology enhancements and service improvements.
Your New Role:
As the Manager, Service and Operations – External Financial Advice, you will be responsible for the leadership, performance and continuous improvement of EFA services across CSC. You will own the operational direction of the EFA function, ensuring services remain effective, scalable and aligned with adviser expectations and organisational priorities.
This role provides oversight of both the internal Defined Benefit (DB) EFA service team and the dedicated Defined Contribution (DC) EFA contact centre delivered through CSC's service partner, Apex. You will act as the operational voice of EFA, representing adviser needs and business priorities across CSC to influence service improvements, technology enhancements and operational outcomes.
You will also act as the EFA Business Owner for key adviser-facing platforms and channels, including Salesforce and adviser website content, ensuring operational priorities, customer impacts and service requirements are appropriately represented and progressed.
What You’ll Need to Excel:
- Service Operations Leadership – Demonstrated experience leading customer service, contact centre or operational service delivery functions with accountability for performance, customer outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Workforce Planning & Operational Management – Understanding of workforce planning, forecasting and service performance in a service-based environment.
- Customer-facing platforms – Experience with customer-facing platforms, systems and technology, including setting priorities, influencing change and driving business outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement Focus – Proven ability to identify service improvement opportunities and implement initiatives that improve efficiency, customer experience and operational effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage teams, build stakeholder relationships and collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and external service providers.
- Data-Driven Decision Making – Ability to interpret service data,
operational reporting and performance trends to support planning, prioritisation and decision making.
- Customer Service Excellence – Passion for delivering exceptional customer outcomes while balancing operational, compliance and business requirements.
- Adaptability & Change Leadership – Ability to support and embed organisational change, ensuring operational impacts and customer considerations are appropriately managed.
Please Note:
Delegated authority, queue allocation, and cleanup will be key components of this role.

Key responsibilities
- review, analysis, escalation and investigation of, and the provision of remediation advice relating to, compliance incidents;
- administration of CSC’s compliance function and systems, including maintenance of the incident and breach register;
- reporting to ASIC, APRA, OAIC and AUSTRAC for notifiable incidents and breaches, including drafting breach reports and related documents;
- post-incident reviews for the purpose of identifying root causes and driving continuous improvement in controls and culture;
- compliance monitoring and oversight activities, including assisting with thematic reviews and responses to internal and external auditors;
- oversight of CSC’s compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing laws and policies, including supporting oversight of transaction monitoring, suspicious matter reporting, and AML/CTF implementation and reporting;
- oversight of compliance with the Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, including assisting in privacy impact assessments for CSC projects and initiatives;
- providing compliance review and advice for CSC’s website disclosures, member communications and marketing, Annual Member Meetings,
other business scripts, annual reports and Modern Slavery obligations;
- internal and external reporting in connection with the functions described above;
- maintaining and applying knowledge of relevant industry, legal and regulatory changes and applying these commercially to Compliance Team services;
- team administration, including workflow management;
- preparing feedback and training to CSC’s business areas, and training within the Legal, Risk & Governance Team, based on relevant observations and needs.
The Senior Compliance Analyst will work collaboratively with other members of LRG, including by working on matters that cross multiple functional areas (such as legal and risk functions), and supporting the provision of holistic services by the team to CSC business units.
Specific duties, deliverables and reporting lines may vary from time to time, depending on business needs and priorities. Key objectives and measurements will be captured in the Performance & Development planning cycle, established annually and adapted as needed.
What we’re looking for
- Degree in Law (LLB, JD or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution
- 4-7 years’ experience in compliance functions relevant to CSC, preferably with exposure to commercial/ superannuation/financial services/corporations law environment
- 2-3 years’ experience in incident management and breach reporting
- Experience in resolving compliance issues and developing relevant work practices that will support the delivery of high quality, commercially focused, compliance services
- Ability to proactively manage a varied workload, to prioritise and meet deadlines, and work effectively with other team members to achieve desired business outcomes
- High level of attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Willingness to learn and meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to build rapport with stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work under pressure
