We’re currently looking for a Senior Endpoint Security Infrastructure Engineer to join the KJR Collective and support a key Federal Government engagement in Canberra.
This is a hands-on technical role where you’ll work across enterprise endpoint security, Windows Server infrastructure, vulnerability remediation and identity and access technologies. You’ll balance BAU support with security uplift initiatives, platform lifecycle management and project delivery.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work collaboratively with platform, cyber security, infrastructure and application teams to:
- Support enterprise endpoint security platforms, including application control, endpoint protection, EDR, vulnerability management, host-based firewalls and device control
- Administer technologies such as Airlock Digital, Symantec Endpoint Protection and Microsoft Defender
- Deliver security platform patching, upgrades, policy changes and agent deployments
- Manage application whitelisting and unblocking, antivirus exclusions and security policy changes
- Investigate CVEs, security findings and vulnerabilities, including impact assessment, remediation, testing and implementation
- Support enterprise Windows Server environments, including Server Core
- Deliver Windows Server upgrades, migrations, patching, hardening and lifecycle activities
- Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, PKI, Group Policy, DFS, SCOM, SCCM/MECM, Intune and Azure Virtual Desktop
- Support identity and privileged access management technologies
- Develop technical documentation and SOPs and contribute to knowledge transfer across the team.
What you’ll bring
You’ll have at least five years of relevant infrastructure/platform engineering experience, together with strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise endpoint security technologies.
We’d particularly like to hear from you if you have experience with:
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint / Defender Vulnerability Management
- Airlock Digital, Symantec Endpoint Protection or comparable enterprise security platforms
- Windows Server, Active Directory and Entra ID
- SCCM/MECM, SCOM and Intune
- DNS, PKI and Group Policy
- CVE assessment, vulnerability remediation and security hardening
- Australian Government security requirements, including Essential Eight, ISM and ACSC guidance
- IAM/PAM technologies such as MIM, Unify Broker, CyberArk or Secret Server
- RHEL and Ansible or similar automation/configuration management tools
- Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, Azure DevOps and Azure Arc
- Developing transparent technical documentation, SOPs and design documentation.
The details
Location: Canberra, ACT
Working arrangement: Hybrid
Anticipated start: 5 October 2026
Initial engagement: 6 months, with potential extensions
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week The opportunity is ACT-based, with flexible working generally supported in line with business requirements.
Security requirements
Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance. Candidates who already hold an active Baseline clearance or higher are encouraged to apply.
