Your role
Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce re-offending and enhance community safety. As an important element of the criminal justice system, CSNSW manages remand and sentenced inmates as well as offenders in the community.
As a Senior Executive Officer, you will provide high-level support to the Deputy Commissioner, Corrective Services NSW. You'll manage sensitive and complex communications, coordinate projects within agreed and often short timeframes, analyse information and provide advice, and oversee the operations of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the organisation's goals and priorities.
What you’ll do
Prepare and review a range of documents such as briefings, reports, correspondence, submissions, and meeting notes, ensuring information is accurate, clear, and delivered on time.
Act as the main point of contact for the Deputy Commissioner, managing enquiries, coordinating communication, and ensuring requests are responded to promptly.
Monitor and report on strategic plans, operational activities, and projects to track progress and support decision-making.
Research issues and prepare advice, reports, and information on complex policy, planning, and operational matters.
Identify and manage emerging issues, helping to resolve problems quickly while minimising risk to the organisation.
Lead or contribute to projects that support the organisation's strategic and operational goals.
Review and improve administrative processes, systems, and procedures to increase efficiency and achieve quality outcomes.
Handle sensitive and complex matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement,
often working within tight deadlines and managing information from multiple sources.
What we’re looking for
Significant experience providing high-level administrative or executive support in a complex organisation.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate stakeholders, and deal with complex matters involving both internal and external partners.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing high-quality reports, briefings, and correspondence.
Ability to provide sound advice, manage sensitive issues, and maintain confidentiality.
Experience coordinating projects, monitoring progress, and supporting organisational objectives.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Current drivers licence and willingness to drive and travel to perform the role
Whilst flexible work arrangements are offered, the successful candidate is required to be in the office at least 3 days per week due to the core functions of the role.
We focus on hiring people who share our commitment and goals of inclusion, collaboration, adaptability, courage and integrity. If you meet the essential requirements and the role resonates with you, please apply – you do not need to meet every desired requirement for us to want to talk to you.
