About the role:

- Advise on commercial and retail leasing, acting for both landlords and tenants across all asset classes nationally.
- Work across substantial leasing portfolios, including retail shopping centres, commercial office assets, industrial property and mixed-use developments.
- Draft and negotiate leases, agreements for lease, variations, renewals, assignments, surrenders and other leasing documentation.
- Act for institutional and private landlords as well as established national tenants and retailers.
- Advise clients on complex leasing issues and provide practical, commercially focused solutions.
- Manage matters with a high degree of autonomy and direct client contact.
- Opportunity to mentor and support more junior members of the property team..

The ideal candidate:

- An experienced Property / Leasing Lawyer at Senior Lawyer, Senior Associate or equivalent level.




- Strong experience in commercial and/or retail leasing, ideally from a recognised property law team or firm.
- Experience acting for landlords, tenants or both across significant leasing matters and portfolios.
- A law degree from an accredited Australian or New Zealand university, supported by strong academic records.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and client management skills.
- Commercially minded and confident managing leasing matters with a high level of autonomy.
- Down to earth, personable and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
