Internal Secondment Opportunity

Senior Manager Safer Gambling An exciting internal secondment chance is available for a Senior Manager Safer Gambling until January 2027.

Reporting to the Director of Safer Gambling, this role is the principal operational leader responsible for the day-to-day delivery of safer gambling operations at The Star Brisbane. You will lead the Safer Gambling Duty Manager cohort and help ensure our regulatory obligations, internal controls and guest-care standards are consistently delivered across our 24/7 operation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading day-to-day safer gambling operations and setting clear priorities across all shifts
- Coaching and holding Duty Managers accountable for operational delivery, team leadership and performance
- Providing senior oversight of complex guest matters, player reviews, exclusions, revocations and gambling management plans
- Supporting the assessment, escalation and remediation of incidents and potential control failures
- Maintaining operational readiness for regulatory, audit and assurance activities
- Overseeing workforce coverage, roster effectiveness, capability and competency requirements
- Using operational data, quality assurance and emerging trends to inform decisions and improvements
- Building strong partnerships with Gaming, Premium Services,



Financial Crime, Security, Surveillance and other key stakeholders
- Acting as the Director’s authorised delegate when required and within approved delegations

About you

You will be an experienced operational leader who can make sound, evidence-based decisions in a complex and highly regulated environment. You will have demonstrated experience leading managers, building capability, managing performance and working collaboratively across different business areas.

You will also bring strong communication skills, sound professional judgement, personal integrity and the ability to remain composed when managing sensitive guest, people or regulatory matters. Knowledge of safer gambling, harm minimisation and casino regulatory obligations will be highly regarded.

Secondment and roster requirements

This is a full-time internal secondment available until January 2027.

The successful applicant must be able to work a mixed roster of five shifts per week. The roster will include a combination of day shifts, night shifts and weekends to provide visible leadership and support across our 24/7 operation.
